A young child in kindergarten is currently hospitalized after being hit by a truck when he was getting off his school bus in Missouri, according to a report by KFVS News.
According to reports, the incident took place on Monday, January 13th. A 6-year-old child, whose name remains undisclosed, was hit by a passing vehicle as they were getting off the school bus.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) was called to the scene of the accident, as reported. The article states that a 19-year-old man was operating his truck in a southbound direction when he attempted to come to a stop, but unfortunately, his vehicle started to slide. It was during this sliding motion that he collided with the 6-year-old child.
Upon arriving at the scene of the incident, EMS reported that the child was conscious and alert, according to Stg. Clark Parrott from the MSHP.
According to the child’s father, his son suffered a broken pelvis and a broken femur as a result of the incident. In addition, doctors were monitoring a small bleed on the child’s brain.
