Missing Chicago Area Man With Dementia Discovered Dead In Indiana

An elderly man suffering from dementia, who went missing last month in the south suburbs of Chicago, was tragically discovered deceased in Munster, Indiana this week.

The Lake County Coroner’s Office in Indiana was summoned to the 400 block of Superior Avenue in Munster around 7 p.m. on Monday to investigate a death.

Chester Palusiak, aged 72 and hailing from Calumet City, Illinois, has been identified as the individual in question.

A desperate search

Here’s what we know: Palusiak was last spotted in Calumet City on February 13th.

He was spotted walking south at 165th Street and Wentworth around 8 p.m. that day.

He was at risk due to his dementia.

A public alert was issued, urging people to assist in the search for him. The alert mentioned that he left without carrying his wallet or any form of identification.

Calumet City police issued a Silver Alert and conducted two thorough searches with the assistance of cadaver dogs, but they were unable to locate him.

The information that remains unknown to us is: The exact cause of Palusiak’s death remains unknown.

The Lake County Coroner’s Office conducted an autopsy on Tuesday, which revealed no evidence of foul play or trauma. However, further toxicology tests are required to determine the final cause and manner of death.
