A woman from Massachusetts was taken into custody on Christmas night by Connecticut State Police for driving under the influence and causing a hit-and-run accident on Interstate 84. Shockingly, she had two young children in her car at the time.
Connecticut State Police were alerted to a hit-and-run incident involving a purple Honda Accord and another vehicle near Exit 67 at approximately 6:45 PM. Following the report, officers successfully located the suspect’s vehicle, which was driving in an erratic manner, just prior to reaching Exit 72.
Police identified the driver of the stopped car as 39-year-old Pheak Si from Lowell, Massachusetts. Accompanying Si in the vehicle were an adult passenger and two children, aged 2 and 7 months old. Suspecting that Si was under the influence of alcohol or drugs, officers administered a sobriety test, which she failed, as reported by state police.
Si was taken into custody and faced charges for driving under the influence, fleeing the scene of an accident, disregarding lane boundaries, and endangering the children. After posting a $1,000 bond, she was released and is scheduled to appear in court on January 8, 2025.
