A Lynn man admitted his guilt in federal court on Wednesday for his involvement in what the FBI believes to be one of the largest drug busts ever recorded in a single location in New England. Take a moment to absorb those words. The magnitude of this drug bust is unparalleled.
Sebastien Bejin, along with Emilio Garcia and Deiby Felix, was charged and indicted in late 2023 after an investigation into an overdose death in Salem, according to a report by WWLP/22 News Springfield.
Detectives initiated an investigation into the alleged drug organization headed by the three suspects, leading them to search four areas commonly frequented by Bejin and Garcia.
They discovered what they described as one of the biggest single-location confiscations of fentanyl and methamphetamine in Massachusetts and the surrounding region.
Law enforcement officers confiscated more than 200 pounds of fentanyl and methamphetamine during the investigation. A total of over 10 million doses of fentanyl and methamphetamine-laced pills and powder were discovered.
Officials have reported that the seized drugs have an estimated street value of $8 million. Additionally, investigators discovered kilos of cocaine and cutting agents, including xylazine. Furthermore, they also uncovered at least one firearm during the operation.
Using surveillance equipment, investigators discovered that Bejin and Garcia would visit the stash location on a daily basis to provide controlled substances to lower-level drug dealers.
Bejin admitted his guilt to one charge of conspiring to distribute controlled substances and possess controlled substances with the intent to distribute, as well as one charge of possessing controlled substances with the intent to distribute.
