Marion Man Arrested for Beating and Stabbing Victim in Assault
Marion police have arrested a 33-year-old man accused of attacking another man with a metal pipe and stabbing him multiple times during an assault.
Officers responded to a home at 1388 Elizabeth Drive on Sunday at 8:40 a.m. after receiving a report of an assault. Upon arrival, they discovered the victim, who had been struck on the head with a metal pipe and stabbed in several areas, including the chest, elbow, and thumb.
The victim was treated at a hospital and later released. Authorities say he is expected to survive.
Police arrested Curtis Grandon, a Marion resident, in connection with the attack. Grandon faces multiple charges, including willful injury, assault with a dangerous weapon, going armed with intent, and disorderly conduct.
