Man Detained For Attacking An 80-year-old Man Over A Grocery Store Parking Spot

Anthony Ray Boyce, 57, has been detained in connection with a savage attack on Earl Hollins, 80. It occurred on Friday afternoon in the 1400 block of West FM 1960 in north Harris County.

According to court records, Boyce hit Hollins over a parking spot at the Food Town supermarket.

From aggravated robbery to assault

At 2 p.m., deputies initially dismissed the call as an aggravated robbery. Investigators quickly found that the victim had not taken anything.

According to witnesses, Boyce and Hollins knew each other and were regular customers at the store.

A sudden confrontation

Sgt. Jeff Thomas noted that the camera footage showed no signs of a confrontation. Following the attack, Boyce drove away in a maroon Ford F150 with tan or white running boards.

Victim’s condition

Kingwood Hospital evacuated Hollins from Houston Northwest Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition.

The authorities are still investigating what caused this altercation.
