Multiple 911 calls were received by troopers reporting a man in a black Chevy Tahoe, driving west on I-10 near 24th Street, firing a handgun at vehicles traveling east on I-10.
According to 911 callers, the suspect was firing the handgun without discrimination into the passing eastbound traffic. It was noted that the suspect did not seem to be targeting any specific vehicle.
A witness took it upon themselves to follow the suspect vehicle as it entered the I-17, and they informed the troopers about its direction of travel.
Troopers and the Phoenix Police helicopter swiftly responded to locate the suspect.
