A student from Booker T. Washington High School has been taken into custody following a social media post where they made a threat to bring a handgun to school. Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr. of CPSO confirmed the arrest.

On the morning of January 26, authorities were alerted to a tip regarding 17-year-old Thomas Ross. It was reported that he had made an online post indicating his intention to bring a firearm to campus.

Deputy Charles Daniels, the school resource officer, found Ross at the school and arrested him.

Officials said that Ross admitted to making the social media post after reading his Miranda rights. He was detained and put into the Caddo Correctional Center on charges of terrorism.

The investigation into the case is still ongoing.
