Late-Night Fire Destroys Machinery Building in Independence
A fire late Wednesday night completely destroyed a hoop building containing machinery in the 1900 block of Jamestown Avenue in Independence.
The Independence Fire Department received the call at 11:44 p.m. and arrived to find the structure engulfed in heavy flames. Firefighters were able to quickly bring the blaze under control, spending two hours on the scene.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
