Shannon Winker, 38, was sentenced in Kingman on Friday after her arrest in connection with a significant drug seizure during a traffic stop on August 7. Winker, along with Michael Seedorf, 48, was taken into custody after Lake Havasu City police officers discovered about a quarter-pound of methamphetamine, nearly 500 fentanyl pills, $1,741 in cash, and a loaded 9mm handgun in their vehicle.
While prosecutors pushed for prison time, defense attorney Dominic Mendoza argued for probation, citing Winker’s past struggles with addiction, homelessness, and personal losses. Winker had pleaded guilty to attempted possession of narcotic drugs for sale, with other charges dropped as part of the plea agreement.
Judge Jantzen, acknowledging the severity of fentanyl’s impact, sentenced Winker to four years of probation, 150 days in custody (with credit for 29 days already served), and ordered her to report to the Adult Detention Facility by January 27. Seedorf’s case remains pending.
