Individual injured when trike motorcycle plunges off cliff in Superstition Mountains

A trike motorcycle fell off a cliff in the Superstition Mountains on Saturday afternoon, leaving a person in critical condition.

The incident occurred around 1:45 p.m. on SR 88 near Weaver’s Needle Vista Viewpoint, approximately 8 miles northeast of Apache Junction, according to officials.

According to reports, the motorcycle plunged down a cliff, falling approximately 100 feet.

A quick response by officials resulted in the rescue of one individual, who was promptly transported to a hospital in critical condition.

The cause of the incident remains unknown.
