Indiana Will Execute Its First Death Row Inmate In 15 Years

Indiana officials are preparing to execute the state’s first death row inmate in 15 years.

Joseph Corkoran was convicted in 1999 of the deadly shootings of his brother and three other men.

If Wednesday’s execution goes as planned, Corcoran will be the state’s first since 2009.

Corcoran’s attorneys have petitioned a federal court to postpone his execution, alleging that it would be unlawful due to his acute mental illness.
