Georgia High School Football Player Accused Of Terroristic Attack: Report

According to Fox5 Atlanta, Cortez Lyles, an 18-year-old high school football player from Georgia, was recently arrested and charged with making terroristic threats/acts in connection with a “diss track” he allegedly made about one of his Heritage High School teammates during an ‘Instagram Live. ‘

Diss songs typically feature verbal attacks or insults in a musical genre.

According to reports, Lyles was arrested after posting a video on Instagram in November in which he rapped a diss track with exploitative lyrics. Lyles was charged with terroristic attacks/threats after posting this video.

According to comments made by Cortez’s parents in the FOX5 story, Lyles and another Heritage football player got into a fight. Instead of responding with physical violence, Lyles chose to reply with a diss track.

Lyles’ arrest occurred on campus in late February, after the other student’s mother filed complaints.
