A harmless prank during a sleepover in Georgia took a dangerous turn. A 12-year-old boy was enjoying a night with his friends at his neighbor’s place. While he was peacefully sleeping, three of his friends were engrossed in a video game. Little did he know that one of them had an ill-conceived idea to pour scalding hot water on him as a joke. The unintended consequence was severe second-degree burns, leaving the boy injured. The mother, Tiffany West, shared the distressing incident.
The boy was promptly taken to the hospital to receive treatment for his burns, and he is currently recovering at home. Understandably, the mother is outraged that the children would intentionally harm her son. “It’s hard to put into words how I felt at that moment. I was angry, hurt, and in complete shock. I was overwhelmed with emotions and just focused on getting him the help he needed,” she expresses.

The authorities arrested the three kids who were responsible for the prank, but later released them. However, the victim’s family intends to return to court for hearings related to the cruel prank. In the meantime, the boy is recovering at home, and his aunt, Nachelle Austile, shares some insight into his mental state.
“He’s numb about it,” she says bluntly. “You got to be in shock to know your friends are capable of doing this to you. Like somebody you trusted, it’s just horrible. He never thought something like this would happen to him.”
Unfortunately, the family is burdened with substantial medical expenses following the prank. Additionally, the mother believes it is necessary for her to remain by her young son’s side as he gradually recuperates.
“My brother and Tiffany have been out of work since this happened with all the traveling,” the aunt says. “She is still gonna be out of work to take care of him while he is recovering. She needs to be here for him.”
