Louis Cirino, 41, a former Ohio high school teacher and football coach, was sentenced to six months in jail and two years of probation on Friday in Geauga County for having a connection with a pupil.
Cirino pled guilty in November to one count of gross sexual imposition arising from a relationship with a juvenile pupil between December 2009 and December 2010.
In addition to his jail sentence, Cirino must register as a Tier 1 sex offender every year for the next 15 years.
This categorization prevents him from dwelling within 1,000 feet of schools or childcare facilities.
Cirino worked for West Geauga Local Schools from 2006 to 2017 before becoming the head football coach and teacher at Strongsville City Schools in 2017. He resigned from his Strongsville position in May 2024.
