Fatal shooting claims life of teenager in City of Maricopa

Last Friday night in the City of Maricopa, a juvenile was shot.

A teenage boy who was shot last Friday night is currently under investigation by the Maricopa Police Department in Arizona.

Police officers received a call around 7 p.m. and swiftly headed to a residential area near Bowlin Road and Hogenes Boulevard. There, they came across a 16-year-old boy who had sustained a gunshot wound. The officers promptly arranged for him to be transported to the hospital for medical attention.

The young boy succumbed to his injuries, although his identity remains undisclosed.

According to the police, the community does not need to worry about an ongoing threat. However, they are urging anyone with information about the shooting to contact Maricopa police at 520-568-3673.

Locals often refer to the Phoenix Metropolitan Area as “The Valley,” and it holds the distinction of being the largest metropolitan area in the Southwest.
