An 18-year-old lost their life at a housing development construction site in north Phoenix on January 4, according to the police department.

The incident occurred at approximately 2 p.m. in the Verdin master-planned community, located near 7th Street on Sonoran Desert Drive.

According to the police, they believe that speed played a role in this incident, and they are currently investigating the matter.

The development site is owned by Taylor Morrison, a home construction company.
