Farm families in Bureau County find themselves at the center of a major theft case.
A warrant was issued for the arrest of William Naffziger, a sixty-year-old resident of Princeton, after he failed to appear in court. Naffziger is facing six felony counts of theft. He was taken into custody on Wednesday.
Bureau County State’s Attorney, Dan Anderson, alleges that Naffziger embezzled more than a million dollars from his clients over several years through his farm management company, NBI Services, LLC, based in Walnut. One of the theft charges he faces is a class X felony, given the substantial sum of money he is accused of misappropriating from his farming clientele. If found guilty, this particular charge alone could result in decades behind bars.
Naffziger stands as the only individual implicated in this significant embezzlement case.
