From August 1 to October 31, 2024, Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) troopers made significant drug seizures, confiscating a total of approximately 6,498 pounds of illegal substances.
These include 837 pounds of fentanyl, 514 pounds of methamphetamine, 33 pounds of heroin, 231 pounds of cocaine, and 4,883 pounds of marijuana.
This major haul reflects DPS’s ongoing efforts to combat the influx of dangerous drugs into local communities. In addition to this, a recent joint operation with the Drug Enforcement Administration, “Operation Night Owl,” led to the seizure of two million fentanyl pills in Phoenix earlier this month.
DPS reiterated its commitment to disrupting the trafficking of illicit drugs and enhancing public safety.
