PHOENIX — In a recent development, Governor Hobbs has raised concerns about the legality of a border policy implemented during the Trump administration. Governor Hobbs’ updated statement clarifies her position on this matter.

President-elect Donald Trump made his first public appearance since being re-elected for a second term. He delivered a speech at Americafest, a conservative event organized by Turning Point USA, held in the Valley on Sunday. During his speech, Trump expressed his gratitude towards the voters of Arizona for their overwhelming support, which resulted in a nearly six-point victory for him in the November elections.

During his speech at the Phoenix Convention Center, President Trump expressed his gratitude and admiration for the people of Arizona, acknowledging their tremendous support and the pivotal role they played in his victory. He emphasized the importance of taking care of the residents of Arizona and thanked them for their exceptional efforts.

The Americafest crowd seemed to consist of a blend of Arizona residents and visitors from out of town. They were eager to witness a lineup of influential Republican speakers over the course of the four-day event.

Tom Homan, the nominee for director of ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) by President Trump, recently expressed his strong stance on sanctuary city laws in response to Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs. Homan’s words carried a clear message, emphasizing his views on this contentious issue.

“The Governor claims I lack the authority to take such action. Well, obviously. I may not be a U.S. attorney, but a U.S. attorney certainly possesses the necessary power, and we will request prosecution,” stated Homan.

Governor Hobbs’ spokesperson issued the following statement in response to the matter:

Governor Hobbs has consistently demonstrated her willingness to collaborate with individuals from all backgrounds in order to effectively safeguard our border and uphold the principles of law and order. Instead of criticizing Arizona’s communities, she is committed to their protection.

Throughout her tenure, she has allocated substantial funding and deployed the National Guard to assist local law enforcement efforts along the border under the operation name SECURE. Additionally, she has taken a proactive approach in combating the influx of drugs into our communities through the implementation of the SAFE Initiative. Furthermore, she has fearlessly opposed the shortcomings of the federal government in providing Arizona with the necessary resources to maintain a safe, secure, and compassionate border.

Governor Hobbs is dedicated to ensuring border security and safeguarding the freedoms of Arizonans. She remains committed to advocating for resources that will strengthen border security. Additionally, she is unafraid to confront anyone who poses a threat to Arizona’s families or promotes policies that lack humanity.

When he regains control of the Oval Office, Trump has made a promise to execute the largest deportation operation ever witnessed in the United States.

“We’re tired of this. We won’t tolerate it any longer. You may think you can get away with it, but I’ve made it clear to Mexico that this cannot go on. We refuse to allow it to persist,” stated Trump regarding the increasing number of crossings at our southern border.

In his second term, the 47th President emphasized the importance of the economy in his speech, pledging to lead the United States of America towards energy dominance and independence.

“We will reduce your taxes and inflation, lower your prices, increase your wages, and bring back thousands of factories to America, right here in Arizona,” exclaimed Trump confidently.

In addition, he threw his support behind Gina Swoboda’s bid to retain her position as Chair of the Arizona Republican Party and endorsed Karrin Taylor Robson for another term as governor.

“Are you planning to run for governor?” Trump inquired, addressing Taylor Robson, who was present at the event. “I believe so, Karrin, and if you decide to do so, you can count on my support.”

While preparing for another term in the White House, Trump made the decision to return to Arizona. He expressed his appreciation for the dedication and support shown by conservatives in the Grand Canyon state.

“We were able to secure victory in the great state of Arizona, which is no small feat for a Republican candidate. However, we found it to be quite achievable, and we actually won by a significant margin of over six points. This kind of overwhelming victory is often referred to as a landslide, and it certainly was in this case,” Trump proudly stated.
