Suspect Arrested After Police Chase in Colorado Springs
A suspect wanted on violent felony charges was apprehended following a chase in Colorado Springs, according to police reports.
The incident began near Roosevelt Park on East Pikes Peak Avenue in southeast Colorado Springs, where officers were attempting to locate the suspect.
Authorities have not yet disclosed the individual’s name but confirmed the charges stem from a domestic violence case. Police also noted that the suspect was known to carry firearms.
When officers approached, the suspect reportedly leaped from a second-story window in an effort to escape. Despite commands to stop, he continued fleeing. An officer then warned that a K9 would be deployed if he did not comply.
After the suspect refused to surrender, K9 Riggs was released and successfully apprehended him. The suspect sustained minor injuries during the capture, was treated at a hospital, and was subsequently transported to jail.
The Colorado Springs Police Department has not provided further details as the investigation continues.
