On Sunday, law enforcement officials arrested a woman in a commuter lot in Connecticut. The woman had been wanted as a fugitive in Colorado.
Connecticut State Police apprehended the woman after a trooper conducting a routine check of the commuter lot along Route 44 in Bolton around 10:30 a.m. noticed a vehicle with a sunshade blocking the windshield and blankets covering the windows.
Two troopers, who were in the area, quickly responded to the scene to provide assistance. Upon arrival, they approached the vehicle and attempted to engage in conversation with the individual inside, ensuring their safety and well-being.
To their surprise, a woman emerged from the backseat and explained that she had been parked in the lot since 8 p.m. the previous night, peacefully sleeping. The troopers from the state police were relieved to find that the situation was not as concerning as initially thought.
According to state police, the woman who was involved in the incident has been identified as Cynthia Marie Conant, a 26-year-old resident of Newington. It was discovered that she had an outstanding warrant from Colorado for failure to appear related to a charge of intimidation.
According to authorities in Fort Collins, Colorado, troopers have confirmed their willingness to extradite Conant. She has been taken into custody and charged as a fugitive from justice. Currently, she is being held on a $500,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Monday.
