The State Auditor’s Office has apprehended the Coahoma County Deputy Coroner on a single charge of embezzlement.
State Auditor Shad White’s press release states that Markeith Mosley is accused of using a Fuelman card that belonged to Coahoma County for his personal benefit between June 2021 and November 2023.
As an employee of Coahoma County, Mosley acquired the card.
If Mosley is found guilty, he could potentially face hefty fines of up to $25,000, along with a maximum prison sentence of ten years.
State Auditor Shad White said, “We will continue to hold the line when it comes to fraud, whether it be big or small.”
