Burglar Convicted For Stealing $70,000 From A Pennsylvania Storage Unit

A burglar was convicted after he and an accomplice stole almost $70,000 from a bag inside a Pennsylvania storage unit.

Lower Allen Township Police reported that on June 16th, 2023, at 1:24 p.m., police were dispatched to the U-Haul at 4725 Gettysburg Road for a non-active burglary of outdoor storage units.

U-Haul managers informed police that three storage units at the property had their locks taken off. According to police, a customer reported a large sum of US money missing from a bag inside the storage facility and suspects an estranged family member.

After conducting an investigation, authorities named Daniel Brown and Matthew Reiff as suspects. Authorities determined that the couple punched a hole in a neighboring fence to get access to the storage facility and took around $70,000.00 from one of the units.

On Thursday, Brown entered a guilty plea and received a sentence of at least 6 months and up to 23 months in Cumberland County Prison.

In February 2024, Reiff was sentenced to a minimum of 9 months to a maximum of 1 year, 11 months, and 29 days in jail and three years of probation.
