A man’s body was discovered in a wooded area in northwest Indiana on Sunday, prompting a death investigation in Lake County.

What we know: St. John police officers, along with a private team of cadaver dogs, conducted a search on Sunday for a 41-year-old man who has been missing since January 28th.
The sheriff’s department reported that a body was discovered by a K9 officer in a densely forested area near the 6300 block of W. 101st Avenue in unincorporated Lake County.
A firearm was also found at the scene by authorities, although they have not yet provided any additional information regarding this discovery.
What we don’t know: The authorities have not yet revealed the identity of the man who is missing.
The identity of the missing man is still uncertain, making it unclear if the discovered remains belong to him.
