A fatal crash occurred in Aurora on Wednesday night, with police suspecting a medical emergency may have played a role in the incident.
The Aurora Police Department reported that officers responded to the crash at the intersection of South Peoria Street and East Yale Avenue at 6:24 p.m. According to authorities, the driver of one vehicle ran a red light, colliding with a sedan containing four people.
The driver who ran the red light was transported to a hospital but later died. Police have not yet released the identity of this individual. Three of the four occupants in the sedan were also hospitalized—one with serious injuries and two others with minor injuries.
While the cause of the crash is still under investigation, police believe a medical emergency may have been a contributing factor. The Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office will release the name of the deceased once it is confirmed.
