An aspiring gang member, who was responsible for the deaths of two individuals last year, has been sentenced to several decades in prison.
On Wednesday, Maricopa Attorney Rachel Mitchell made an announcement regarding the sentencing of Timothy Moses Bernal. Bernal, who is 27 years old, has been sentenced to 48.75 years in prison for the tragic shooting deaths of Chad Munoz and Austen Mole in 2023.
“Our Gang Bureau prosecutors at MCAO are dedicated to removing gang activity from our streets on a daily basis,” Mitchell stated. “By incarcerating individuals who show no regard for human life through their acts of violence, we are fulfilling our commitment to ensuring the safety of every community.”
Bernal admitted his guilt for two charges of first-degree murder and for violating his probation.
According to Mitchell, Bernal carried out both murders while he was on probation for an aggravated assault in 2015.
