A community is mourning the loss of Jaylen Reeves, a 15-year-old sophomore at Mountain Pointe High School and a member of the school’s football team, who was fatally stabbed early Saturday morning following a confrontation.
According to Phoenix Police, officers responded to reports of a stabbing at approximately 3:00 a.m. near East Lakewood Parkway. Investigators revealed that the incident occurred during an altercation between two groups of teenagers. At this time, no arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
In a heart-wrenching act of selflessness, Reeves had chosen to be an organ donor, leaving behind a legacy of compassion by giving the gift of life to others in need.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the stabbing to come forward and contact Silent Witness. Tips can be submitted anonymously by calling 480-WITNESS or 480-TESTIGO.
