Arizona Good Samaritan Found Dead After Offering Assistance to Stranded Driver

Authorities in Arizona reported the tragic death of a kind-hearted individual who was found deceased after offering assistance to a man experiencing car trouble on Monday.

The victim, Paul Clifford, 53, was identified by the Pima County Sheriff’s Department on Thursday.

According to a fundraiser organized online by a woman claiming to be Clifford’s daughter, her father went missing on Monday after leaving his house at 11:30 p.m. to assist a stranger with a stranded vehicle.

According to Sabrina Vining, the woman, he didn’t come back home and unfortunately, he was later discovered deceased.

The sheriff’s office made an announcement stating that Clifford’s body was discovered near a smoldering vehicle in the northeastern area of Tucson. However, no details regarding the cause or manner of death were provided by the department.

Authorities responded to the area after receiving a report of suspicious activity. Upon investigation, they discovered that the report was likely connected to a stolen vehicle, which was subsequently located at an apartment complex.

The department spokesperson declined to disclose the whereabouts of the complex.

The department has stated that no suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made in Clifford’s death. They have emphasized that the investigation is still ongoing.

During the fundraiser, Vining expressed her family’s profound sadness over her father’s passing.

“He had a massive, caring heart,” she said, describing him as a gentle giant.
