A driver of a tractor-trailer in Gwinnett County has been charged by officers for a dangerous hit-and-run crash.
The crash occurred on January 28th in the vicinity of Venture Parkway and the Pleasant Hill Road overpass on Interstate 85, according to officials.
The police reported that the tractor-trailer collided with a silver passenger car as it tried to change lanes while exiting the overpass.
The car spun in front of the truck due to the crash, and according to the police, the tractor-trailer proceeded to push the car through two intersections before coming to a stop.
According to reports, the tractor-trailer left the scene before the police arrived.
Thankfully, officials have confirmed that the driver of the car escaped without any injuries.
The Gwinnett County Police Accident Investigation Unit conducted a brief investigation and successfully located the tractor-trailer involved in the incident. They were also able to identify the driver as 31-year-old Christian Barrier from Alabama.
Barrier voluntarily surrendered himself at the Gwinnett County Jail on Friday. He is facing charges of hit-and-run, improper lane change, reckless driving, and reckless conduct.
