According to ABC13 Houston, Bartlett Elementary parents witnessed their young pupils returning home with a note from their instructor. Most parents, however, were deeply concerned by the memo, which disclosed that pupils had lost their ability to use the restrooms. According to the note, the teacher noticed kids playing outside the classroom and punished them by taking away their bathroom passes for the day.
Understandably, parents were furious about the news. Amber Johnson, a parent whose child was enrolled in the class, told ABC 13:
“These kids are traumatized and humiliated. They were made fun of. They were crying, begging, pleading, and asking multiple times to go to the restroom, and they were refused.”
Johnson also told ABC13 that some pupils soiled themselves due to their inability to use the facility. Another father, Joseph McCauley, reported that his child had soiled himself in class.
“If I sent my child to this school smelling like that, they would call CPS and have me investigated and try to have my child taken away from me. ‘So, how is it OK for my child to go to school clean, prepared, and come home smelling like that?'”
