A Pennsylvania man who authorities say registered to vote in two different counties and in Florida was sentenced on Thursday in Philadelphia.
Phillip C. Pulley, aged 62, has been sentenced to three years of probation and has been ordered to complete 100 hours of community service. Additionally, he is required to pay fines amounting to nearly $10,000.
In September, Pulley, a resident of Huntington Valley, pleaded guilty to charges of falsely registering to vote, double voting, and election fraud.
In 2018, Pulley came under investigation for dual voter registration in both Montgomery County, Pennsylvania and Broward County, Florida.
In 2018, officials from the U.S. Attorney’s Office discovered that Pulley had fraudulently registered to vote in Philadelphia. He had used a fabricated home address and social security number.
Officials have stated that Pulley voted in both Montgomery and Philadelphia counties during the 2022 U.S. Senate race in Pennsylvania.
As part of Pulley’s court-ordered community service, he is required to spend 50 hours supporting an organization that actively promotes the principles of free and fair elections.
“Free and fair elections are critical to the health of our democracy, and people who seek to corrupt the process can dangerously erode the public’s trust,” U.S Attorney Jacqueline C. Romero.
