A Fall River Man Accused Of Impregnating His Daughter Will Appear In Court

A man from Fall River, who is alleged to have impregnated his daughter, is scheduled to appear in court at the beginning of next week.

In April 2022, the Fall River Police Department contacted the Scorpion Unit of the Fulton County Georgia Sheriff’s Office regarding a distressing case. A 14-year-old victim had been impregnated by her own father, and immediate action was required. The Scorpion Unit, a specialized unit dedicated to suppressing violent crimes, promptly responded out of concern that the suspect might attempt to flee to Puerto Rico, where he has family connections.

Roque Garcia-Ortiz faces three counts of rape, three counts of aggravated rape of a child, and one crime of rape with force.

The Scorpion Unit found Ortiz at a hotel in East Point and brought him in without any trouble.

After being held in Fulton County custody, Garcia-Ortiz was subsequently extradited to Massachusetts.

He was not granted bail and was held in custody.

The court has scheduled a change of plea hearing for Monday, with a trial date set for March 3rd if a guilty plea is not made.
