Man Sentenced To 13 Years For Methamphetamine Distribution

An individual from Anchorage has been handed a 13-year prison sentence for distributing methamphetamine in Alaska, along with violating the terms of his release following a prior conviction for drug distribution. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Alaska made this announcement on February 14th.

Todd Robert Klink, 55, has been accused of selling over 82 grams of methamphetamine in two separate incidents, as stated in court documents. The sales took place in July 2023 and January 2024, and a law enforcement witness was present for both transactions, as confirmed by the department.

The department noted that the first sale involved a 97% pure form of methamphetamine, while the second sale involved a 68% pure form of methamphetamine.

On February 20, 2024, Klink was indicted by a federal grand jury in Alaska. The U.S. attorney’s office charged him with two counts of distributing a controlled substance.

On March 1, 2024, the department made an announcement stating that agents had apprehended Klink and conducted a search of his residence under a federal search warrant.

According to the U.S. attorney’s office, as part of the search, agents discovered and confiscated over 3.5 kilograms of completely pure methamphetamine, along with more than 500 grams of 98% pure methamphetamine. Additionally, they found digital scales and various other drug paraphernalia.

“Despite his past conviction for drug-related offenses and a history of criminal activity, Mr. Klink made the conscious decision to persist in trafficking dangerous drugs within our community,” said First Assistant U.S. Attorney Kathryn R. Vogel for the District of Alaska.

“The justice system will not stand by while illegal, poisonous substances are distributed in our communities, putting countless lives at risk. This sentence underscores our unwavering commitment to collaborating with law enforcement to dismantle drug trafficking operations and protect Alaskans.”
