The Harris County Sheriff’s Office has taken decisive action against a criminal network that has been causing a significant uproar with their smash-and-grab robberies at jewelry stores located within local supermarkets. These audacious thefts have resulted in the loss of thousands of dollars worth of jewelry and left a chaotic aftermath in their wake.
Dexter R. Mitchell, along with his nephew Reginald D. Mitchell, Shonton D. Howard, and Christian D. Venson, now find themselves in custody and facing serious charges. These individuals have been charged with first-degree felony offenses, specifically, engaging in organized criminal activity with a deadly weapon and committing aggravated robbery.
This crew is not just responsible for the heists in Houston, but they are also believed to have carried out similar crimes in the Dallas area. It is the hope of the authorities that these individuals will be held accountable and face the full consequences of the law.
Between November and December 2024, the thieves targeted jewelry stores located in supermarkets at specific locations such as 11303 Veterans Memorial and 3050 N Fry.
