A student from Indiana, who the police claim intended to carry out a school shooting similar to the Parkland incident, had created a shrine commemorating previous school shooters.
Trinity Shockley, an 18-year-old, was taken into custody on Wednesday. Shockley is facing three felony charges, including conspiracy to commit murder, as reported by WISH-TV.
According to the arrest affidavit, Shockley discussed her plans on Discord in several talks. She indicated in the discussion that she intended to commit “Parkland Part 2,” that she would use an AR-15, and that she was looking for a bulletproof vest.
She also shared an image of a photo collage of known mass shooter Dylan Roof, writing “I have THIS staring at me.”
According to the affidavit, Shockley confided in a school counselor on February 11th, expressing her sexual attraction towards Nikolas Cruz, the shooter at Parkland High School. The affidavit further states that Shockley discussed her desire to have multiple children with Cruz and even shared that she had already named them. Additionally, Shockley revealed that she had written Cruz several letters and even showed the counselor a heart locket necklace containing a picture of Cruz.
During the search of Shockley’s residence on Feb. 12, the police discovered some AR-15 magazines and a box of .40 caliber rounds in his father’s bedroom. Additionally, a soft armor vest was found in the front room closet. However, no firearm was recovered during the search.
In Shockley’s room, police found the collage that had been shared on Discord. “There was a collage on the wall of Dylan Roof, Nickolas Cruze, and Andrew Blaze. All three of these men were known for mass killings. I took these photographs down and collected them as evidence at this time,” the affidavit states.
In Shockley’s backpack, there were three buttons featuring infamous mass shooters: Dylan Roof, Nickolas Cruze, and Andrew Blaze.
The police also made note of Shockley’s writings in his notebook.
On Jan. 13, she wrote, “These thoughts won[‘]t stop. I want to hurt others. All of the time! I want to hurt others. I wish people around me knew about my bad thoughts. I love violence. I love Ethan Crumbley and Nikolas Cruze. Becoming the worst version of myself hurts me but this needs to be done. You all need to be burnt out, killed, wiped away from humanity. Right now, I want to pull out a AR-15.”
She needs to be terminated immediately. She is not rehabilitatable in any way whatsoever. Save lives before she gets to kill anyone.
