SLED charges Georgia man with making threats against a public official

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) has charged a Georgia man with threatening the life of a public officer.

Michael Lee Gaskins, 56, is charged with endangering the life of a public official on February 7, 2025.

According to the arrest request, Gaskin willingly and consciously delivered a telephone transmission on February 2 that threatened the life of a public officer.

Gaskins was booked at the Lexington County Detention Center. The South Carolina Attorney General’s Office will prosecute the case.
