A man and a woman from California were arrested in Wilson County, Tennessee, after law enforcement officers found a large amount of mail belonging to local residents from various cities. The suspects were apprehended after authorities noticed a Range Rover Sport parked outside the Avid Hotel in Lebanon, situated on South Hartman Drive between the I-840 and Highway 231 interchanges off I-40. The SUV was quickly recognized as a stolen vehicle reported in Missouri.
The investigation by Lebanon Police started with interviewing the hotel’s front desk workers and digging into the identity of the driver of the SUV. As a result, they were able to locate and apprehend a 29-year-old male and a 34-year-old female who were operating the stolen vehicle. Additionally, the police confirmed that the female had an outstanding warrant for her arrest in California.
During their investigation, law enforcement found a significant amount of stolen mail originating from Middle Tennessee and other areas outside the state. Moreover, they also came across various tools and materials used for creating fake identification cards and credit cards, along with a collection of genuine stolen credit cards.
In a press release, the police have confirmed the arrest of two individuals on multiple criminal charges. The case is still under investigation, and there is a possibility of additional charges being filed. Furthermore, a federal agency has become involved in the case after the recovery of numerous pieces of U.S. mail during the arrests.
