A Kentucky mother found herself in handcuffs after her child accidentally ingested a bag of methamphetamine, as reported by the sheriff’s office in Laurel County.
The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jessica Mills, 32, on Wednesday night following a report of a 15-month-old child ingesting a small bag of methamphetamine at a residence on Laurel River Church Rd.
Upon arrival at the scene, deputies discovered a plastic bag that held a white crystal substance, suspected to be methamphetamine, which the child had reportedly consumed.
During field testing, it was confirmed that the bag contained methamphetamine.
The child received medical treatment at a local hospital and is now in stable condition.
Mills faced arrest for criminal abuse and was subsequently taken into custody.
