The Hamilton County Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, based at the Fishers Police Department, assisted in the arrest of four Indiana residents charged with multiple felonies, including child sex abuse material, child exploitation, sexual misconduct involving children, incest, and bestiality.
Erik Scot Reed of Morristown was charged on January 29 and 30 along with Stephanie Reeves, Anthony Strahl, and April Brown of Greenfield.
According to a task force press release, the investigation into Reed began following a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Detectives from the Hamilton County Metro ICAC Task Force executed search warrants on Reed’s social media accounts, which allegedly contained multiple files, including child sexual exploitation materials.
The Shelby County Jail issued a warrant for 18 charges of child exploitation and possession of child sex abuse materials. They arrested Reed and transported him to the Shelby County Jail.
Investigations into Reeves, Strahl, and Brown began when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a tip. During the inquiry, detectives executed search warrants on their social media accounts and different residences, allegedly uncovering countless files containing child sexual exploitation content.
The Hancock County Jail issued a warrant for the three individuals, alleging 42 felony offenses. We detained all three and sent them to the Hancock County Jail.
The task force, based at the Fishers Police Department, includes detectives from Greenfield, Carmel, Fishers, Westfield, Noblesville, the Hamilton County Sheriff, the Madison County Sheriff, and the Department of Homeland Security. It focuses on cybercrimes against children and conducts child exploitation investigations in Hamilton, Hancock, Madison, and Tipton counties.
