An Indiana woman was arrested and subsequently charged with murder and child neglect causing death in relation to the tragic death of her 2-year-old child last week. It was revealed that the woman had left her two children alone in their home for extended periods of time, only visiting once a day to provide them with food. The defendant’s boyfriend, who is also facing charges of assisting a criminal, disclosed that she would spend her nights at his place and rarely had the children in her care. He stated that the children would be with their mother at most once a week.

The 33-year-old mom, ChanteII, has been indicted on charges of murder and neglect in connection with her daughter’s death, according to court documents. The investigation began last week when ChanteII called 911 and informed the dispatcher that her 2-year-old child, SkyIer, was unresponsive. She told the responding officers that she discovered her child on the bedroom floor, not breathing.

The 33-year-old mother, who is being jailed without bond, told responding cops that she simply came home to feed her children. Her four-year-old son approached the woman, but her two-year-old daughter did not. The mom then discovered the toddler on the floor, unresponsive. During an interview with detectives, the mother stated that she fed her children once a day before leaving them alone in a residence.

First responders pronounced the youngster dead on the site and informed investigators that the child had been deceased for some time. Authorities also stated that the child had injuries all over her body. The mother’s home was littered with trash, rotten food, and human feces.

During a follow-up interview with investigators, the lady reportedly acknowledged leaving her children alone for hours, without supervision, and only returning to the flat once a day to feed them. The woman reportedly told investigators that she frequently discovered the victim and her sibling with feces on their hands. The woman also admitted to neglecting her children but denied physical abuse.
