Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) has apprehended two undocumented migrants who, according to the agency, were operating a drugs and narcotics enterprise in Maryland and Georgia.
Officials revealed that the two migrants were apprehended on Thursday, a mere day after 10 members of the Tren de Aragua gang and their associates were indicted for engaging in similar criminal activities in New York City.
HSI Baltimore shared a photo on X of a migrant being led into a law enforcement vehicle by two HSI agents. The image showed the migrant with a chain wrapped around his waist.
As part of their operation, the agency showcased the array of guns and ammunition they confiscated, revealing an impressive collection of over 30 weapons.
HSI Baltimore, in collaboration with HSI Atlanta, successfully executed an operation to apprehend the two individuals. The ATF’s Baltimore field division, the Baltimore Police Department, and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency also played a crucial role in coordinating this joint effort.
Fox News Digital has contacted HSI and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to gather further information about the unidentified illegal immigrants and the extent of their activities.
In a recent development in New York City, the police have apprehended eight individuals who were involved in an illegal arms and drugs-running operation. The operation, which spanned across six states, was brought to a halt with the arrest of these suspects.
According to prosecutors, they had intentions of expanding internationally, specifically to Colombia.
A total of 34 illegal firearms, including AR-15 assault rifles and a Glock 9mm that had been modified to function as an automatic weapon, were confiscated by authorities. Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz has linked these weapons to the suspects involved.
According to Katz, the TDA gang members were not only involved in illegal activities, but they were also distributing dangerous drugs, such as pink cocaine. This particular street drug is a combination of ketamine, MDMA, and ecstasy, and is known to be highly potent and potentially deadly.
All ten migrants, including two women, are from Venezuela and have entered the country illegally through the southern border, according to the police.
Two years ago, two Venezuelan nationals arrived in New York City and formed a gun-running crew consisting of other foreign nationals. This particular faction was led by the two Venezuelans.
According to the police, a member of TdA reportedly broke an officer’s arm during the incident in New York City. The migrant involved will be facing charges for this particular incident.
Since taking office last week, President Donald Trump has been actively pursuing the deportation of violent illegal migrants, as immigration officials have intensified their efforts in this regard.
