Lithonia Man Detained In Connection To Large Fraud Scheme Targeting Texas Victims

The Lithonia Police Department, working together with the Snellville Police Department and the Collin County Sheriff’s Office in Texas, apprehended 24-year-old KE-JUAN D’SHON STUDDARD for his involvement in a significant fraud operation. This operation aimed at victims in Texas and encompassed fraudulent transactions across various financial institutions, such as Cash App, Wells Fargo, and Chase Bank.

Ruben Studdard, a resident of Lithonia, is currently facing charges of breach of computer security, online impersonation, and felony theft. These charges have been brought against him due to his alleged participation in fraudulent bank schemes, wherein he unlawfully obtained funds.

The Collin County Sheriff’s Office in North Texas reached out to the Lithonia PD for assistance in finding Studdard. They had been able to track his whereabouts to metro Atlanta. After conducting several hours of surveillance, law enforcement officers from the Lithonia Police, Snellville Police, and a Collin County Sheriff’s investigator successfully apprehended Studdard in a Walmart parking lot in Snellville, GA.

Studdard is set to be extradited to Texas to answer for the charges against him. The Lithonia Police Chief, Dejarnette, expressed his praise for the collaborative effort that led to the apprehension of the suspect. He emphasized the commitment to safeguarding the vulnerable and credited the successful arrest to the combined efforts of the Collin County Sheriff’s Office and Snellville PD. Their teamwork resulted in tracking down and capturing the suspect, ensuring that he will face the consequences of his actions.
