Pennsylvania State Police are currently in search of a driver who engaged in a high-speed chase in Indiana County on Tuesday.
A trooper from the state police was engaged in traffic enforcement around 12:30 p.m. on Old Route 119 Highway South near Johnson Road in White Township.
The state trooper spotted a red Nissan Altima sedan exceeding the speed limit by 10 miles per hour. Attempting to pull over the vehicle, the driver instead accelerated and headed south on Old Route 119 Highway South, reaching speeds of approximately 90 miles per hour, according to state police.
The trooper initially lost sight of the car, but later discovered it on Lucerne Road Extension near Old Route 119 Highway South in Center Township. The vehicle had been abandoned and was found unoccupied.
According to state police, the driver of the vehicle managed to escape on foot and could not be found. It is also suspected that there might have been a passenger in the car who also fled on foot.
