Massachusetts couple admits guilt in illegally voting in New Hampshire, AG says

A Massachusetts couple has admitted to wrongfully voting in New Hampshire, where they own a home, according to the attorney general.

Joshua Urovitch, aged 56, and Lisa Urovitch, aged 54, both residents of Ashland, Massachusetts, have been handed a sentence of 12 months in the House of Corrections by the Merrimack County Superior Court. However, their sentence has been suspended for a period of two years, subject to their good behavior, as mentioned by Attorney General John Formella in a statement.

The couple was also directed by the court to individually pay a fine of $2,000 along with a penalty assessment of $480. In addition, the state imposed a civil penalty of $1,240 on each of them, as stated by Formella. Moreover, the Urovitches have also been deprived of their voting rights in New Hampshire.

The Urovitches entered into a negotiated plea agreement, where they individually admitted guilt to a Class A misdemeanor of wrongful voting. As part of the agreement, the state decided to dismiss two additional charges of wrongful voting against them.

The Urovitches have a rental property in Concord, which they lease to tenants, according to Formella. Since at least 2020, the couple has been residing in Ashland, Massachusetts.

During the period from 2020 to 2024, tenants residing in the Concord property have verified that the Urovitches solely visited the premises in their capacity as landlords and did not reside there themselves.

The couple is being accused by prosecutors of unlawfully voting in three different elections. According to the allegations, they cast their votes in the Nov. 3, 2020 General Election, the Nov. 8, 2022 General Election, and the Nov. 8, 2022 Concord School District Election, all while using the Concord property as their address.
