Two men were viciously stabbed steps away from a movie theater on the Lower East Side Saturday night, killing one and injuring another, police said.
At 8:32 p.m., violence erupted near Regal Essex Crossing on Delancey Street and Norfolk Street, according to police.
Police report that a male in his twenties sustained a knife wound to his abdomen, while a 19-year-old man sustained a back stab.
Despite the medics’ efforts to transport them to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, the elderly sufferer was unable to survive.
Reports indicated that the teen’s condition was stable.
Sources claim they found a knife at the scene.
Police say they arrested two people, but they don’t know what started the attack.
The violence on Saturday night alarmed locals.
“It’s messed up,” remarked Paul, a resident who stared at the police tape. “It’s horrible.”
