Two Alabama Men Face Charges For Multiple Burglaries Across Four States

According to the Oakland Police Department, two men who were responsible for a series of robberies and burglaries across four states have been apprehended through the collaborative efforts of multiple law enforcement agencies.

Paul Hinkle Jr., aged 36, and Rashawn Taylor, aged 24, are facing charges in Fayette County. They have been charged with three counts of burglary and three counts of theft of property.

They are also facing multiple charges at the federal level and from various local jurisdictions throughout the southeastern United States.

On November 26, 2024, the Oakland Police Department was called to respond to multiple incidents of burglaries.

The Atoka Police Department teamed up with the OPD on the same day.

After carefully analyzing the surveillance footage, an astute detective from Atoka was able to ascertain that the vehicle implicated in the thefts in Atoka was indeed the same one responsible for the thefts in Oakland.

The OPD started receiving reports of car thefts on 194, north of Highway 64.

Upon further investigation, it was uncovered that the suspects had been specifically targeting unlocked vehicles and pilfering valuables in four states – Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia.

The suspects were apprehended in Douglasville, Georgia at 4 a.m. on Thanksgiving by the authorities.

Officers discovered five stolen handguns, a stolen Stihl backpack blower, and various items taken from thefts in Atoka and other states inside the vehicle.

Both Hinkle and Taylor are currently being held in federal custody in Birmingham, Alabama.

Both of them hail from Alabama.
