Prentiss Co. charges convicted Tennessee felon with gun possession

A Tennessee man is facing a gun charge after being pulled over in Prentiss County, Mississippi for having an expired tag.

On January 9, a Prentiss County deputy conducted a traffic stop on East Church Street.

While conducting the traffic stop, the authorities discovered that the driver, Brandon Goodwin, had an active warrant issued by the City of Booneville.

Upon exiting the vehicle, deputies discovered a handgun in Goodwin’s possession.

Goodwin, a resident of Tennessee, has a criminal record as a convicted felon.

He faced charges for possessing a weapon as a convicted felon, in addition to multiple misdemeanor traffic violations.

Goodwin had to post a bond of $2,500.
