The entire state of Colorado is featured on the ‘danger of heavy snow’ report for the upcoming days

Snowfall is predicted to increase this weekend in Colorado, but a bigger storm may arrive next week.

The National Weather Service’s mapping shows that practically the whole state of Colorado will be under ‘danger of significant snow’ from January 18 to January 20. It is also worth mentioning that temperatures are likely to be colder than usual around this time.

Over the next five days, Steamboat Resort expects the most snow, with 12 inches of fresh powder (see their complete resort-by-resort analysis here). Copper Mountain remains the state’s snowiest resort, with 171 inches.

According to the USDA, statewide snowpack is 95% of what is normal for this time of year.

The ‘danger of significant snow’ for next week is still many days away, so a lot can change. The National Weather Service website offers further weather forecasting.
