Suburban Man And Teen Girl Detained In Connection To Battery And Carjacking In Chicago

A carjacking and battery incident that took place last month in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood has led to the arrest of a 16-year-old girl and a 20-year-old man on Sunday.

The girl is being charged with two felony counts of aggravated vehicular hijacking with a weapon, while Fonocerio Edwards from Waukegan is facing two felony counts of vehicular hijacking.

On December 23, a distressing incident unfolded in the 2800 block of West 63rd Street. Two individuals, armed with guns, reportedly assaulted and carjacked a 38-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man.

On Sunday, the authorities apprehended the duo in Buffalo Grove and Waukegan. Edwards is set to appear for a detention hearing on Tuesday.
